Formerly known as Unity & District Savings and Credit Union Limited, Unity Credit Union was founded in 1941 with 54 members and an asset base of $52.00. Today, Unity Credit Union has grown to over 4500 members and is the 13th largest credit union in Saskatchewan.

Unity Credit Union remains committed and proud to serve Unity and the surrounding communities where its members reside. As a financial co-operative, our members are both owners and stakeholders, and have the opportunity to voice their opinion. As elected Board of Directors, our members help monitor and contribute their business expertise to enhance the service and operations of our financial institution. Together, we work towards ensuring the highest quality service for our members.

1941: Incorporated on August 28, 1941 as Unity & District Savings and Credit Union Limited   |  First loan granted for $30  |  Assets were $52 with 54 members 

1968: Constructed a new building  |  Introduced Term Deposits  | Assets  $3.3 million |  Loans $2.7 million

1980: Amalgamated with Tramping Lake Credit Union  |  Assets $18.7 million  |  Loans  $10.8 million

1982: Building addition  |  Installed first ATM  |  Assets $27.7 million  |  Loans  $15.8 million

1992: Introduced MasterCard credit cards  |  Assets $56 million |  Loans $32 million 

1998: Major building renovation  |  Assets $77 million  |  Loans $51 million

2000: Introduced MemberDirect® Internet Online Banking

2001: Became a full-service financial institution  |  Assets $83 million  |  Loans $54 million

2008: Introduced Tax Free Savings Accounts (TFSAs)

2010: Introduced CHIP cards
